La Paz El Alto International Airport

The airport of the Bolivian capital La Paz isn't the main airport of the country. That would be the more modern airport Viru Viru near Bolivia's commercial center Santa Cruz de la Sierra. As indicated by the airport's name El Alto, the airport, as the rest of La Paz, is located at high altitude: 4061 meters! It's the second-highest airport in the world (Qamdo Bangda Airport in Tibet is even higher).
