Local transport

Train

The Newark Liberty Airport train station lies next to the terminals. The AirTrain stops regularly at all terminals, parking facilities, car rental agencies and the train station. The AirTrain at the airport is for free. A trip by monorail to the train station takes about 10 minutes. NJ Transit and Amtrak have fast connections. A trip to New York by train takes 30 minutes. Car and bus

The airport is located 3 kilometers south of Newark and about 25 kilometers south west of downtown New York: Manhattan. From Manhattan, you can get to the airport (through the Holland Tunnel) by taking Highway 78. From New Jersey you can take Highway 95. The airport is on the New Jersey Turnpike (toll), New Jersey's most important highway.

Newark Liberty Airport Express- busses run regularly between the terminals and the (Port Authority) bus terminal, Bryant Park (5th Av.) and Grand Central Station (NJ Transit bus services: 37, 40, 62 and 67). The bus fare is almost the same as the train. For more information, please go to the NJ Transit website.

Car rental Newark Liberty International Airport

Car rental agencies are located at P2 and P3: Avis, Budget, Dollar, Hertz, National and Enterprise. You can also book a rental car in advance at EasyTerra, this website compares multiple car rental agencies and their rates simultaneously.

Taxi

Taxicabs are available in front of the terminals. A trip to Manhattan costs approximately USD 55.00. Please, only take an official taxi. Go to the (transport) information desk, offices, bus stops or taxi stands for secure transport. You can also contact one of many limousine services (tel. +1(0)800 258 3826).

Parking at the airport

There are several parking facilities. Short term parking (A, B and C) is available at the terminal: rate max. USD 33.00 per day. P1, P3 and P4 are for day parking: rate max. USD 24.00 per day. There is a free AirTrain to the parking spaces and a shuttle bus to (Economy) long term parking at P6 and P7: rate max. USD 18.00 per day. P4 has valet parking: rate max. USD 40.00 per day.
