Toronto airport: Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ)
Toronto Pearson International Airport
Toronto Airport is the busiest airport in Canada, approximately 30 million passengers use the airport each year. It was opened in 1939 under the name ‘Malton Airport’ and was renamed Toronto International Airport in 1960. Another new name change followed in 1984, since then it has been officially called Lester B. Pearson International Airport in honor of the 14th Prime Minister of Canada.
In order to capture the growing flow of passengers, there was a lot of hard work done on expanding and improving the airport, this renovation was completed in 2008. To finance this, there is a surcharge calculated into your ticket of $20.00 for departing passengers and $8.00 for through travelers.
There is a free LINK shuttle train going between the three terminals.
Prices are given here in Canadian dollars, €1.00 = CAN $1.46 (November 2006).
