Willemstad airport: Curaçao International Airport (Hato) (CUR)
Curacao Airport
The international airport of Curacao is in the northern part of the island, 11 kilometers from the capital Willemstad. In cooperation with Changi Airport in Singapore, they are working on extending and improving the airport. The first phase was in 2006, rounding off with the opening of a new terminal building. With that, Curacao Airport will be one of the most modern airports in the Caribbean.
At departure of Curacao Airport, taxes are levied of NAf 12.50 for internal flights (Bonaire and St. Martin) and NAf 41.50 for all other flights. If you fly with American Airlines, American Eagle or KLM this tax is included in your ticket.
The currency for the Dutch Antilles is the Antillean guilder (NAf), €1.00 = NAf 2.27 (November 2006). The currency has been directly coupled to the American dollar which is also accepted everywhere. At ATM's you have the choice of getting American dollars or Antillean guilders.
