Hotels

In the terminal there is a hotel: Hotel Mercure Schiphol Terminal (tel: +31(0)20 604 1339), which is only available to flight passengers. In the nearby vicinity there are many other hotels, ranging from cheap to expensive, that can be reached by shuttle bus. There is a special website,where you can see how far the hotels are from Schiphol and also how you can directly book a hotel room. For more hotels and to reserve online you can go to Booking.com, they have a large range of hotels with great internet rates.

Shops and restaurants

Amsterdam Airport has a large range of bars, restaurants and stores. In fact the terminal has changed over the last ten years into a shopping center. Inside the area that is accessible for everyone (Schiphol Plaza) there are various types of shops that can be found, i.e. a complete supermarket (Food Village).

The Duty Free section also has an extensive range of products for passengers. People with little time can also See Buy Fly, that they can quickly get before getting on their flight.

Baggage

There are free baggage carts available everywhere in the airport. A porter service is also available via (tel: +31(0)20 601 2303). In the basement of Arrivals Hall 1 and 2 you can store baggage (tel: +31(0)20 601 2443). At the information counters you can ask about misplaced baggage.

At the check-in counters there is a service available where you can seal your baggage - Seal & Go (tel: +31(0)20 316 4289).

Information

There are information kiosks in various places where you can ask about flight data and other information about the airport, available by telephone via the general information number (tel: 0900 - 7244 7465).

In Arrivals Hall 2 you can find tourist information from Holland Tourism.

Business

Schiphol offers extensive possibilities for organizing conferences, renting meeting rooms and using modern communication resources. The Conference Center "Exchange Avenue" (tel: +31(0)20 603 4607) offers six halls suitable for 2-80 people, on the third floor above Departures Hall 1.

The Regus Skyport Meeting Center (tel: +31(0)20 654 1600) is immediately next to the terminal, besides renting offices and meeting rooms, it also offers secretarial services and facilities for telephone conferences.

A-Company (tel: +31(0)20 601 5018) properly takes care of receptions for your business relations or VIPs, the company also escorts group trips and guided tours.

Privium Plus offers, for €159.00 per year, quick passage through border control with an iris scan, front parking in P2 and P3, price benefits with Schiphol Valet Parking and check-in for Business Class at participating airlines. There is also the basic package for €109.00, which only offers the iris scan for quick passage through border control.

Disabled facilities

Schiphol does many things to make the airport easily accessible for the disabled. In parking lots P1, P2 and P3 there are places reserved for the disabled. For the hearing impaired there are hearing loops and text telephones (tel: +31(0)20 601 2929). There are free wheelchairs available and there are also escalators, rolling walkways, and adapted elevators and toilets.

For transportation in the airport there are electro-cars available which are looked after by A-Company (tel: +31(0)20 601 5018).

Escorts for accompanying the disabled are looked after by IAC-Intergom Airport Caddy (tel: +31(0)20 405 7900).

Other services

Many companies offer 'self-service check-in', machines where you can go through the check-in procedure by yourself. It is especially useful for travelers with only hand baggage. The airport has a large range of banks and money exchange offices. You can order foreign currency or Travelers Cheques online and can pick them up when you leave Schiphol.

There are two special ‘spotters’ locations close to runways: Kaagbaan and Buitenveldertbaan. The Panorama Terrace on the roof of the terminal also gives a beautiful view of airplanes that are taking off and landing.

In Hotel Mercure, passengers can shower for €12.50, including a towel, soap and shampoo.

In Departure Hall 2, upstairs from check-in counter 16 you can find the vaccination clinic, called the Travel Clinic (tel: 0900 109 1096, only in Dutch).

Medical service is available 24 hours a day via (tel: +31(0)20 649 2566).

You can rent a mobile telephone with Telecom Rentcenter in Schiphol Plaza.

There is wireless internet throughout the whole airport. There are also Communication Centers (tel: +31(0)20 794 0500) in Lounge 1 and 2 where you can use all modern communication services and an extensive range of other services.

There is a casino in the terminal building, and there is also a branch of the Rijksmuseum (the national museum) where various exhibitions are held.
