Local transport

Train

There is a train station under Terminal B where local, regional and inter-city trains stop. There are direct connections with Winterthur, Bern, Basel and Luzerne. From Hauptbahnhof in Zurich there are connections with many other places in Switzerland.

Car and bus

The airport is 12 kilometers north of Zurich and is easily accessible from Zurich, Bern and Basel via the A20. The exit to the airport is clearly indicated.

The bus station is behind parking garages 2 and 3, many local and regional bus lines leave from there. There are also bus connections that stop in S-Bahn (Balsberg, S-Bahn 7 and Glattbrug S-Bahn 5). At night there is an express bus to several destinations in Switzerland.

Car rental - Zurich Airport

In parking garage 2 you can find counters from car rental companies: Alamo/National, Avis, Budget, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

Taxis are outside the Arrivals Hall (tel: +41(0)848 850 852). A ride to the center of Zurich takes around 15 minutes and costs approximately CHF 50.00.

Airport Parking

Parking garages P1, P2 and P3 have, in total, places for 6,000 cars and a direct connection with the terminal. Rates: CFH 4.00 for the first half hour, CFH 6.00 for the first hour then CFH 3.00 per hour. The garage P5 is a little further away and P40 and P60 are parking areas, here you pay CFH 28.00 per day and CFH 60.00 for three days, after this, the prices for P60 are somewhat lower than those for P5 and P40.
