Train
The airport does not have any railway connections. There are busses to the center of Anchorage (see below). For more information about train travel in Alaska, please visit the website of the Alaska Railroad Corporation.
Car and bus
The airport lies 3 miles from downtown Anchorage. From the north take Glen Highway to the south. Glen Highway turns into 5th Avenue, which goes west into downtown Anchorage. 5th Avenue turns into 'L' Street, turn left (south) on 'L' Street. This road eventually changes into Minnesota Drive. Turn right onto International Airport Road, this road will take you directly to the airport.
There are city-busses (People Mover) leaving from various airport locations towards downtown Anchorage. This service is available from 6:00 a.m. until 11:00 p.m. and departs every 30 minutes. A day pass costs $4.00. For more information please check People Mover Website (tel. +1(0)907 343 6543).
Car Rental Anchorage Airport
Car rental agencies are situated opposite the southern terminal (Avis, Alamo, Budget, Dollar, Enterprise, Hertz, Thrifty and National). You can make a reservation in advance with EasyTerra, this website compares several car rental agencies and their rates.
Taxi
Taxicabs are available at both terminals. A trip from the airport to downtown Anchorage costs approximately $20.
Parking at the Airport
Parking at Ted Stevens Anchorage International Airport is provided by Republic Parking. There are several options: Short term parking (South) for $13 per day, or $11 per day (North). Long term parking (South) costs $10 per day or $65 per week. For more information contact tel. +1(0)907 243 1532.
