Local transport
Train
There is no train connection with Catania Airport. Trains go to all destinations in Sicily and even to mainland Italy, eg Rome and travel time is 10 hours from the city of Catania.
Car and bus
The airport is seven kilometers southwest of Catania on the highway A-19 to Palermo. The parallel road SS-417 goes to Catania. You can find a handy map on the airport website where all roads are clearly indicated.
AMT Alibus (free number in Italy, tel: 800 018696) leaves every 20 minutes from the airport to the center of Catania. There are various other bus companies that maintain service to several places in Sicily, in the summer, buses leave every hour to Taormina, travel time is 50 minutes and costs €5.00 and Palermom, travel time is 2½ hours and costs €14.00.

Car rental - Catania Fontanarossa Airport
There are no less than 15 car rental companies represented, the larger ones being Avis, Europcar, Hertz and Sixt. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxi
A taxi ride (tel: +39(0)953 309 66, evenings tel: +39(0)953 867 94) to Catania costs approximately €25.00 and takes 15 minutes.
Airport Parking
Short-term parking is at T4 and T5, the rates are, for the first 6 hours €1.00 per hour, then €0.50 per hour thereafter. Long-term parking (tel: +39(0)953 497 70) costs €1.50 for the first hour, €2.50 for 2 hours, €9.00 for the first day, after that you pay €6.00 per day for the first four days and €4.00 per day from the fifth day.
