Driving in Denmark with a rental car
Copenhagen is connected to Malmö by the Oresund Bridge. Trips to Sweden are therefore easily arranged. The island of Zealand has excellent connections to the rest of Denmark because of the many bridges and ferries.
Roskilde is situated at 32 km from Copenhagen, thus easy to reach. The city of Roskilde used to be the capital of Sweden (around the year 1400) and in the (dome) church of the city, the rulers of Denmark have been buried since the Middle Ages. Århus is a famous attraction as well. The city is situated at 157 km from Copenhagen, on the mainland (Jutland). The city of Odense can be found on the Funen Island and is the birthplace of Hans Christian Andersen. In addition, there are many museums here and a 13th century (dome) church. Odense is situated at 142 km from Copenhagen.
Denmark is part of the smaller Scandinavian countries although ferries tend to extend the distances a bit (ferries are slow). Denmark is mainly known for its LEGO production. In Billund you can find the factory as well as a LEGO-theme park. Billund is located on the mainland, 220 km from Copenhagen.
