Brussels airport: Brussels Airport (BRU)
Brussels Airport
Brussels Airport is 12 kilometers northeast of the Belgian capital and processed 23 million passengers in 2015. The airport was built during the Second World War by the Germans. According to legend, the Belgians had shown the Germans a bad place to build an airport, they knew, as it happens, that it was frequently foggy there.
Brussels Airport has two terminals, Pier A and Pier B. Pier A was exclusively used for Schengen flights for a long time. However, nowadays flights to and from Africa and New York are also handled here. An expansion to Pier A is being worked on.
