Local transport
Train
There is no train connection with the airport. Bus line 2 goes to Hauptbahnhof in Salzburg.
Car and bus
The airport is close to the city, only four kilometers from the center of Salzburg. The exit to the airport (‘Flughaven’) is clearly indicated on highway A1 (to Vienna and Budapest), the exit that connects to the A8 (to Munich). From the center of Salzburg you follow first the Maxglaner Hauptstrasse and then the Innsbrucker Bundesstrasse (B1) that leads directly to the airport.
During the day, a bus (line 2) leaves every ten minutes to Salzburg Central Station, travel time is approximately 20 minutes. Other destinations are also accessible from the bus station at the airport, such as Zell am See, Maishofen, Saalfelden, Weißbach, St. Martin, Unken, Bad Reichenhall and Wals.
Car rental - Salzburg Airport
In the Arrivals Hall you can find counters for car rental companies: Avis, Bluebox, Budget, Europcar (Arac), Hertz, National/Alamo (Denzeldrive) and Sixt. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.
Taxi
Taxis are outside the Arrivals Hall, a ride to the center of Salzburg takes approximately 15 minutes and costs around €12.00.
Airport Parking
Parking areas P1 and P2 are for short-term parking, 16 hours parking costs €17.50. There is also a garage for long-term parking, 16 hours costs €13.30. It is cheaper to park your car at P3, P5 or P7, 16 hours costs €10.50. There are prepaid parking tickets that can be purchased for €70.00, €140.00 and €280.00, where you can receive a 10% discount.
