Local transport

Train

There are two train connections between the airport and Kuala Lumpur: the express train KLIA Ekspres, with check-in facilities in the Kuala Lumpur Station and KLIA Transit that follows the same route but makes stops at several stations.

Car and bus

The airport is along the highway from the Malaysian capital to the south, North-South Central Link Expressway, travel time to and from Kuala Lumpur is approximately one hour, this is a toll road. An alternative is the highway between Kuala Lumpur and Seremban. The routes to Kuala Lumpur and to the airport are clearly indicated.

There is a large bus station on the ground level of the parking garage (Section C), buses leave from there to Kuala Lumpur and several other destinations in Malaysia.

Car rental - Kuala Lumpur International Airport

In the Arrivals Hall you can find counters for car rental companies: Avis, Budget, Hertz, National and Thrifty. You can also reserve a rental car in advance using the service EasyTerra provides, they compare the rates of several providers in a single quote.

Taxi

In the Arrivals Hall there is a window where you can purchase a ticket for a taxi, the fixed price to Kuala Lumpur costs RM 60.00. Do not discuss offers with illegal taxi drivers!

Airport Parking

In the garage for short-term parking there is a direct connection with the terminal, this garage is subdivided into four sections (A, B, C and D). In section B and C you pay for the first hour, RM 3.50, for the second hour RM 3.00, for the third hour RM 2.50 and then RM 2.00 per hour. By the terminal for budget airlines there is a parking area where the rates are not much lower, except for the first two hours parking costs RM 1.00 per hour.
